Programs & Activities

Chaminade students are encouraged to pursue interests and experiences beyond the classroom. Whether you are a full-time, part-time, commuter, or residential student, Chaminade offers many events and activities for students during the noon and evening hours. These enjoyable co-curricular activities build social skills, creative community, and enhance the overall college experience.

Get out there! Attend a cultural performance, be a part of an intramural sports team, participate in a service project, or go to a musical performance on-campus. The Office of Student Activities and Leadership is here to connect you with peers and start shaping your Chaminade experience today.

Campus Activities

There are a wide range of opportunities for students to become engaged and involved at Chaminade. Remember, students who are involved and connected to the University often do well academically and have an overall enjoyable college experience; college involvement improves students’ personal and professional growth.

Community programs are campus-wide events that are open to students, faculty, and staff. Sponsored by a variety of departments across campus, these activities promote spirit and foster community at Chaminade. Look out for flyers and ads for more details during the semester, check out the University Events Calendar, Presence, or visit the OSAL office. OSAL Social media’s are a great place as well, @Chaminade_OSAL or @ChaminadeUniversityOSAL

Cultural Immersion

Pacific Island Review and International Extravaganza
Come and explore the cultural world of your fellow students. Students join our community from all over the world to share their experiences with you. Food, culture, music, movies, clothing, and dances of the Pacific and the world are highlighted through the Pacific Island Review (PIR) and International Extravaganza. Each has become traditions at Chaminade, so don’t miss out. Come early and bring your appetites – its always a great show!

Recreation and Intramural Sports

Recreation programs are open to students, faculty, and staff. These programs are designed to provide enjoyable, safe, and organized recreational experiences. Varied programming is geared to promote healthy lifestyles through physical fitness, social engagement, skill development, and competition.

Sign up for a recreational class, intramural sports team, registered recreational/sports club, and/or visit the Carlson Fitness Center, located in Kieffer Hall.

To sign up for intramurals visit our Health and Wellness page.

Outdoor facilities at Chaminade include two tennis courts and a basketball/volleyball court at the top of campus (near the Behavioral Sciences Building). If the gates are locked, go to the Security Office with your CUH ID to open the facilities.

Recreational Sports Equipment Room
In addition to offering free classes and intramurals, OSAL also manages a recreational sports equipment room. Equipment such as basketballs, volleyball sets, soccer balls, tents, sleeping bags, XBOX 360 or Wii games, and more are available to students, faculty, and staff for short-term rentals. The Loo Center is a great place to gather and participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular programs and activities. Students can study, watch television, play a game of pool, check e-mail, use the computers, or just hang out. Stop by the Office of Student Activities & Leadership (Clarence T.C.
